OnClimate Changed My Home
From displaced families in East Africa to communities in Pakistan who have seen their homes washed away by floods, this new exhibition by International Rescue Committee highlights the breadth of people’s experiences of crisis and emphasise the need for meaningful climate action and bold solutions. You are invited to visit this open-air, multimedia event which aims to educate audiences, create a powerful movement for change, and elevate the experiences of some of the world’s most climate-vulnerable communities.
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) are commemorating 90 years of humanitarian work and raising awareness of how the present climate crisis is impacting millions of people globally. The exhibition takes place during national Refugee Week (17-23 June 2024) and showcases stories from IRC clients across the world that capture the extraordinary challenges caused by increasingly devastating climate disasters.
IRC provides specialist services for refugees, asylum seekers, and other vulnerable migrants fleeing from war, violence and persecution in countries like Syria, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Sudan and Iraq. This includes cultural orientation, job readiness training and specialised education support aimed at supporting schools and educators develop inclusive and nurturing learning spaces for refugee and asylum-seeking students.
