220616 Bbc Introducing Jess Iszatt Pic 1

BBC Introducing in London presenter Jess Iszatt is back at The Scoop to present another sizzling line up of the best emerging talent from the capital.

Catch three up-and-coming artists in a line up specially curated for Summer By The River by Jess and the BBC Introducing in London team.

Night Tapes

Night Tapes started out as evening jams between housemates Max Doohan, Sam Richards and Iiris Vesik in London. Night time London, genre-blending, multi-fidelity recordings and honest reflection contribute to their atmospheric soundscapes that ultimately make for fresh and envelope pushing dream pop.

Their first single “Forever” has reached over 7M plays and music has been playlisted by some of the biggest official playlists and played by tastemakers in KCRW and BBC Music. Last year, they did their first tour in EU/UK and performed in the US biggest showcase festival SXSW showcase.

2024 is shaping up to be the trio’s biggest year yet, with their Spotify following growing by over 50% to nearly 30k, over two millions streams for late 2023 single ‘drifting’. On the 7th of June, their fourth EP

“assisted memories” is out and in autumn, they will be touring.

Viji

Referencing the easy, fuzzy sounds of the 90's Viji is pioneering a new scene filled with layered guitar melodies paired with pop hooks and slow, soulful soliloquies

Tonguetied

Tonguetied is a world honest and raw; a diary, distorted, often blurry.

Between bouncing synths and pulsing bass lines sits the ripeness and honesty of Tonguetied’s lyrics - confessional and sometimes blunt, no emotional stone is left unturned. Her debut EP 'Bloom" brings you swirling melodies weaved alongside soaring vocals, drawing you in with an addictive intensity. Songs to dance to, songs to cry to, songs to yearn to, songs for release.

Brought to life, a Tonguetied live show presents the full force of that emotional voyage. Thumping kicks provide a bed for Garcia's ethereal vocals to float above, piercing deep into any buried subconscious - the audience is left with no choice but to feel.
