Summer By The River: BBC Introducing in London

BBC Introducing in London presenter Jess Iszatt is back at The Scoop to present another sizzling line up of the best emerging talent from the capital.

Louis Culture

Louis Culture is taking his sound to new heights. With his new EP I Can't Wait To See U Again he offers his loyal, constantly growing community of fans an accomplished work of rap and songwriting, coloured by unexpected notes of folk and shades of moonlit R&B. Following shows in LA, Paris, Brussels and throughout the UK in 2023, he’s now just finished his 1st UK + European tour where he pairs his new material with classic records from his catalogue like When Life Presents Obstacle and Smile Soundsystem.

BINA

South London based artist BINA. has been writing and producing music that effortlessly blends a variety of sounds. From jazz, to rnb to electronic, there's a beautiful collision of soundscapes within her music.

Introspective lyrics are gracefully delivered through soulful and catchy melodies, then laid over alternative genre-divisive production, she has crafted out her own lane rightfully becoming one of the UK’s hottest artist to watch. Her intense creativity through not only music but visual arts have moulded a world that leaves listeners in awe and reminded of what it means to be a multi-hyphenate artist. Student of genre-bending artists like Solange, Erykah Badu and James Blake it’s no wonder why BINA.’s music is audio cinema.

Sam Akpro

Hailing from the vibrant streets of Peckham in South-East London, Sam Akpro is not your typical singer-songwriter. His music is a kaleidoscope of sound, a fusion of fuzzed-out guitars and digital-drums that creates an inimitable sonic landscape.

TEEG

TEEG is determined to do things differently. With only a few tracks to his name, the rapper’s quickly rising through the cream and into a crop of artists unwilling to be defined by the sounds of yesterday. His box fresh flows have proven equally suited to the cybernetic production of ‘Mice of Men’ and the comparably chilled vibes on follow-up single, ‘Ringing’. Promising more music in 2023, the south west Londoner isn’t to be slept on.

Bonding over the boisterous wordplay of Eminem and 50 Cent, TEEG shared his early rap infatuations with his brother. When the time finally came to write himself, the act of making music was cathartic, a form of escapism for the wordsmith. This all changed when he shared one of those recordings with his peers; the multifaceted artist’s dexterous rhyme schemes and flow switches feel like the perfect fit for PULLEN’s unrestrained beats.
