The Howlers

Having just released their independent debut album 'What You've Got to Lose to Win It All' in May earlier this year, the Howlers will be playing a special show as part of the Summer Series, before heading out to the rest of the UK and Europe in support of their debut.

An epic, 15-track collection of expansive, cinematic earworms, the album was produced by Black Honey and is defined by The Howlers’ resilience, friendship and unconditional love through unimaginable pain.

Taking their lead from an eclectic range of influences, from the film scores of Ennio Morricone and John Willams to desert blues pioneers Tinariwen, Kurt Vile, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Father John Misty,

The Howlers' debut album proves they are far from your conventional guitar band.

DUTCH MUSTARD

Holland born, London based Sarah-Jayne Riedel, “SJ”, fronts the just-out-of-the-gate alternative rock project, Dutch Mustard. Her new EP Beauty, has received support from Lauren Laverne and Steve Lamacq on 6 Music. Last year she released her debut EP An Interpretation of Depersonalisation, which was quickly featured by the BBC, getting airplay on Radio 1’s Future Artists and being selected by none other than rock's enduring sage Iggy Pop on 6 Music.

Dutch Mustard produces a sound that is as dreamy as it is heavy, finding that middle ground in guitar tone between fuzzy and pristine. Riedel writes all the songs and demos most the instruments herself in her bedroom before bringing in other musicians. It becomes a collaborative project, driven always by SJ’s vision and creativity at the helm.

SJ has spent the year since her debut release writing and experimenting creatively.

John J Presley

John J. Presley is a multi instrumentalist based in Brighton. His two studio albums have garnered him critical acclaim - from radio support from Steve Lamacq on BBC6 Music, to Track of the Week on Radio X with John Kennedy, to co-hosting a show with Bad Seed Jim Sclavunos. He has also recently been nominated for Best Rock Album at the well regarded PREIS DER DERDEUTSCHEN SCHALLPLATTEN KRITIK in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Every review says for fans of Nick Cave, Mark Lanegan and Jack White, but they also say it's very much his own thing. Gallows humour tales alongside delicate instrumentals into crushing feedback - there's a lot of tension and release in his work which makes for a cinematic experience.

John J. Presley and his band have recently been out touring with Radiohead's Philip Selway and Gaz Coombes.
