OnSummer by the River: A Love Letter to London / River of Life
Steve Hollingshead has been roaming the streets of London with his black and white camera for more than 25 years, witnessing and recording hundreds of events ranging from the traditional to the spiritual to the occasionally bizarre.
This passion for the city and its people culminated in an epic exhibition earlier this year – '1001 Days in London' – in which Hollingshead attempted to present the vast breadth and depth of London's varied communities in a single presentation of over 1000 images.
Film maker Eamonn Molloy's documentary explores how this exhibition came to fruition and examines the motives and inspirations that drive Hollingshead in his work.
'River of Life' is a short film created by Hollingshead for Minamon Film, made for the recent Waterloo Festival, in which he celebrates the many and varied activities on and alongside the Thames by means of a rapidly transitioning flow of images.
