Common Goldfish
Drawing influences from Britpop, psychedelia and 90s electronica, the common goldfish sound boasts a nostalgic familiarity, nodding to the past while reaching for the future.
From impromptu sets in Tottenham skateparks to gigs on boats floating down the Regent’s Canal, Lovell’s instrumental versatility has echoed into experimental use of iconic London locations. Now taking the stage as a 4-piece band, the evolving live show has electrified Cloud X Festival and sold-out headline performances at Camden Assembly and Peckham Audio.
“Quite Extraordinary” is how Amy Lame described the recent single, Tottenham Ritzy, on the best new music programme on radio 6. With more radio support from the likes of Steve Lamacq, a national playlist add from John Kennedy at Radio X and being chosen as a BBC introducing featured artist in 2023, he’s been tipped as one to watch in 2024
Jasmine Jethwa
Jasmine Jethwa makes folk-tinged pop songs with a full voice that teems with rich emotion, mystery and magic. Jasmine's new EP and latest offering, Love Worth Believing (2024) invites listeners to enter a new chapter of her ethereal musical world.
Hailing from South London, her journey into music is deeply rooted in her background as a dancer. "I definitely like a drive and rhythm to my songs... I want to feel like I can move to it or be moved by it emotionally." This intrinsic rhythm permeates her work, manifesting in songs that sway and soar, creating an undeniable connection with her listeners.
Loie
Meet Loie (pronounced Low-ee), a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter from South London, Brixton. Loie’s experience growing up as a young, mixed woman of British, Chinese-Trinidadian/Bolivian background in Brixton, has been hugely influential to her sound and collaborative, creative process.
With an early interest in Jazz, Loie’s performance experience begins aged thirteen, before attending the BRIT School to hone her craft. Loie's shows are captivating, crafting flawless improvised vocal performances and have been in high demand, selling out her recent debut solo headline show at Cafe KOKO and Dalston Curve Garden this summer.
Loie continues to grow her soulful, raw and live-focused sound by often using samples of nature and conversations captured within her everyday life. An eloquent writer, she takes inspiration from some of the great female vocalists such as Nina Simone, Sade and Jill Scott. Independently she has seen an increasingly growing support and fan base, which aims to grow further.
